Robert Wayne Brjoraker Sr.,79, formerly of Des Moines, IA. Passed away March 14, 2006 at home with family at his side. Preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Isabel of 53 years; his children Mary Elizabeth Bjoraker, Robert Jr.(Cindy), Bella (Don) Friedges; his grandchildren Sean, Colin, Brittany, Shannon, Tashi, Jakey; and three great grandchildren. Robert was a sweet, loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed. His life will be celebrated at a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18 at St. Bridget’s Catholic in Lindstrom, MN. Interment will be in Green Lake Cemetery in Chisago City, MN. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday March 17, at Roberts-Eckert Funeral Home, 555 SW Centennial Drive, Forest Lake, MN.

John Lambert Vander Velden, 65, of Shoreview currently of Lino Lakes, died suddenly on March 13, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon; children, Carmen (Mike) Myslicki, Michelle (Keith) Welch, and Jon Vander Velden Jr.; grandchildren, Anthony, Taylor, AJ, Alexis, and Aiden; two sisters, Joan (Andres) Christenson and Sue Effers; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen (Gary) McDowell; many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8:30 PM Thursday, March 16th at Roberts-Eckert Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Drive SW, Forest Lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Private burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Irving Christensen of Forest Lake

He was preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude Roos this past Feburary; and his brother, Harlan Christensen in WWII. He is survived by his wife Lucille Christensen of Forest Lake; his children, Bonnie Christensen, Rick Christensen, and David (Mary) Christensen; three grandchildren, Joe, Heidi, and Jerry; one great granddaughter, Keeley; one brother, Kermit (Pauline) Christensen; and one sister, Jane Koalska.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, March 16th at Roberts-Eckert Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Drive SW, Forest Lake. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 15th from 4 – 7 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday. Interment will follow the service at Oak Park Cemetery.
Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
Margaret Slanina of Wyoming, MN

Margaret Wall-Slanina, formerly of River Falls, died peacefully on March 12, 2006 at her home in Wyoming, Mn. She was born on April 28, 1916 in Beldenville, WI to parents Charles and Pearle Clonts-Bloes. She Graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1935. As a high school student was honored to be the piano accopanist for the State Fair Orchestra and Choir when they were chosen to perform at the World’s Fair in Chicago. Margaret received a teaching certificate from UW-River Falls in 1938 and began teaching at Angel Hill Country School. After attending summer school and night classes, she received her Bachelors Degree in 1957 and taught at Afton Lakeland Elementary School for 19 years. Her special interest was integrating Spanish into the curriculum for her 6th graders. In 1967, Margaret was widowed when her husband Mel was killed in a plane accident while on a humanitarian mission in Vietnam working for Aid to International Development. Following her retirement form teaching, Margaret became a winter visitor in San Benito, TX. She was active in the Winter Vistors Club acting as secretary and choir director. The mixed choir produced several costumed shows each year. She was accomplished pianist and accompanied small vocal groups well into her 80’s. In 1978 Margaret married Henry Slanina and they became Texas residents. They spent summers in River Falls and Lindstrom, MN until he died from a heart attack in June, 1988. Margaret was very active in the United Methodist Church as a choir member and as Lay Leader. She was a stong, independent woman with an exceedingly generous spirit. Margaret’s dry sense of humor and her story telling will be missed dearly. She loved her family without judgement, was a devoted friend, and avid reader and bridge player. Margaret loved music, adored her cats, was a member of PEO and the UW-RF Faculty Women’s Club. Margaret loved to travel, with Scotland and Ireland being her favorite places to visit. She was especially thrilled to have the opportunity to kiss the Blanrney Stone while in Ireland. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her younger siblings, John Boles, Marion Hincher, Charles and Douglas Boles; her husbands, Mel Wall and Henry Slanina; her son, Chuck Wall. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Wall(Bill Dickman), of Osceola and Son, Doug of Tampa, FL.; granddaughters, Katy Woman (Tom Bensen), Ginger Worman (Mike Regal), Jenny Granger (Tim), special daughter, Marti Hudak; first cousin Mike (Judy) Baker of River Falls; great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 on Sunday March 19, 2006, at Roberts-Eckert Funeral Home at 555 SW Centennial Dr in Forest Lake, MN.
Michel ” Mike ” Daninger of Scandia, MN

Michel (Mike) Sidney Daninger was born on October 25, 1916 to Franz/Frank and Stephanie/Fanny (Jerry) Daninger. He was granted Eternal Rest on March 6, 2006.
Mike was preceded in death by eight brothers and six sisters, and numerous WWII/CBI buddies.
Survived by Florence, wife of 52 years; sons, Dominic (Diane), Patrick (Sharlene), Michael; daughters, Bernadette (Jim) Lukenbill, Margaret (John) Winkle, and Catherine (Dan) Kaiser; Grandchildren, Eric and Amanda Daninger; Luke, Erin, Nathan and Mariah Daninger; Nicole and Abby Daninger; Elizabeth (Mike) Engum and Christopher Lukenbill; Nicholas (Miranda), Sarah and Patrick Winkle; and David Kaiser and Great Grandchilren, Mikayla Engum and Baby Winkle. Mike is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation 6-9 PM Wednesday, March 8 and one hour before Mass on Thursday at Roberts-Eckert Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Drive SW, Forest Lake. Mass of Resurrection 10:30 AM at Church of St. Peter, Forest Lake. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Human Life Alliance or Pro-Life Action Ministries.
