Kathy VanAndel of Forest Lake, MN

Age 47, of Forest Lake passed away on July 31, 2006.

Kathy was preceded in death by parents, John Shettles Jr. and Ava Arlene.

She is survived by husband, David; son Jeremy; brothers Jerry Shettles and Rick Shettles; niece, Stephanie; close friends, Pat, Jane and Dene. Born in Gary Indiana moved to Hobart where she grew up with her family, she moved to Forest Lake 20 years ago. Kathy was a veterinary assistant and then work for Prudential Insurance for many years. Kathy loved animals, gardening, camping and was a good cook, she especially enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 4th in Forest Lake, Minnesota.   Interment will be on Monday, August 7, 2006 in Conway, Arkansas.

Age 33, of Minneapolis, formerly of Forest Lake, passed away peacefully July 29, 2006. Survived by his loving wife, Lisa; parents, James and Susan; sisters, Paula (John) Larson, Pamela (Dan) Mewhorter; newphew, Jeremy; nieces, Allyssa, Chantel, Kali and Hannah; father and mother-in-law, Steven and Linda Schmid; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. Charlie loved life, the outdoors and being with his many friends, including his three dogs. A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held 6 PM, Tuesday August 1, 2006 at Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 W. Roselawn Ave. Roseville, with visitation from 4-6 PM all at church.

Willis R. Sherman of Wyoming, MN

Willis R. Sherman Longtime Rush City Resident Athlete, sportsman, Eagle Scout, hard-working father and friend died peacefully on July 24 in his Wyoming home.

Willie is survived by Elaine (Lindstrom), his loving wife of 52 years; his sister Virginia Racchini; his daughters, Sherry Bruce and Wendy Hiraoka; his son, Wayne Sherman; his granddaughter, Jenna Sherman; many dear friends, extended family and co-workers. He will me missed by many.

Willie’s family wishes to thank his extraordinary team of doctors and nurses.

A private gathering to celebrate his life will be held at his home.   Please take a moment to remember and share your memories of Willie today.   Thank you.

Jerry Schrom of Forest Lake, MN

Former longtime resdient of Hugo passed away of cancer at his home in Forest Lake on July 21, 2006 at the age of 62 years.

Jerry was born February 5, 1944 in Saint Cloud. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Patricia; his two sons Mark and Michael and his wife Molly.

Jerry was enjoying his retirment fishing and traveling with Patricia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday July 26th at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota.  A luncheon will follow at the Hugo American Legion.  Private interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Dear Friend. Age 64, of Forest Lake passed away peacefully at her home on July 18, 2006. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, and in-laws. Survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert; her sister Sandy Ellingson; Judith and Robert’s children, Richard (Joanie), David (Ann), Denise and her son Jonathon, Timothy (Cheryl); five granchildren; two great grandchildren; and many other loving family members. Visitation will be noon until 1 pm on Saturday July 22nd with a Memorial Service at 1 pm all at Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church, 25402 Itasca Ave, Forest Lake. Private interment at Fort Snelling. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Age 50, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 12, 2006, after a brief and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s). Dan is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 21 years, Kathleen Gibbons; beloved children, Jeffrey, Kristin, Mark, Laura, and Michelle. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Catherine; brother, Frank; brothers-in-law, Bill Heck and Greg Gibbons. He will be greatly missed by sisters, Rita (Mark) Nupen, Joanne Heck, Kathy (Bob) Albert, Therese (Paul) McGibbon; brothers, Greg (Karen), and Jim Fleischhacker; mother and father in-law, Jack and Clarice Gibbons; sisters-in-law, Nora and Sheila Gibbons; brother-in-law, Mark (Claire) Gibbons, and so many wonderful friends, relatives and co-workers.
