Funerals are both for the living and the dead. Funerals offer the families and the public an opportunity to recognize the life of someone whom has been an important part of their own lives. Funeral practices are influenced by both religious and cultural traditions. Honoring these traditions help the living through the grief process.

How Much Does A Funeral Cost?
Understanding a funeral bill is a challenge for most consumers due to government regulations. We try to simplify things and help our customers become informed consumers so they can make good decisions.

The total cost of a funeral will be determined by the type of funeral you choose and the merchandise you select. The actual bill is broken up in to two parts. Part one includes the funeral goods and services provided by the funeral home. Part two includes cash advances, which are services that you may need that the funeral home will obtain or coordinate on your behalf from a third party. These items are not marked up by our funeral home and include cemetery charges, clergy and musical honorariums, certified copies of death certificates, and flowers. We will work with you to help you chose a funeral that meets both your financial and emotional needs.

Cremation
There are different options available to those who choose cremation. The cremains may be kept in an urn and displayed in the home or the urn may be buried in a cemetery or placed in a columbarium. Some individuals choose to scatter cremains in a scattering garden or another special place to the deceased. An alternative option for the cremains is to have them made into a memorial diamond. A LifeGem® is a unique and timeless memorial which provides a lasting memory. Cremains can even be made into fireworks! There are more and more options for cremation everyday and we would be honored to help you find the option that is best for you and your loved one.

Roberts Signature Services

From airline reservations to legal questions, our complimentary signature services is another way we serve.  Let the staff at Roberts Family Funeral Home help with:

Making Airline Reservations and Hotel Accommodations
Once the service details have been arranged, it would be our pleasure to assist you in travel plans for out of town guests.  We will strive to find the best travel schedule at the lowest fares by having a local Forest Lake Travel Agent meet with you.  Frequent flyer numbers and credit card information will be requested to book your flights.

When hotel accommodations are needed, reservations will be made at the hotel of your choice in the Forest Lake area. 

Airport Transportation
Whether transportation is needed to or from the airport, our staff is available to drive to Minneapolis/St. Paul airport.  We are willing to accommodate you at any time of the day.  This is a complimentary service for all families we serve.

Dry Cleaning Service
When dry cleaning service is needed, call the funeral home at 651-464-4422.  We will stop by your home, pick up the items to be dry-cleaned and will deliver them back to your home. 

Consultation With Estate Attorney
Many times questions about legal concerns arise following a funeral.  Here at Roberts Family Funeral Home, we offer a complimentary one hour consultation with a local attorney who can assist your family.

Funeral Celebrant

We offer the families we serve the option of working with Marlene Keyser, a Certified Funeral Celebrant. Certified Funeral Celebrants are a great option for families who do not have a clergy person that they would like to perform the ceremony. Marlene meets with the family and offers guidance and consulting. She will talk with your family and create a unique personalized service that reflects the life of your loved one.

Markers and Monuments

We can provide families with markers and monuments of their choice. If you are interested in more information and prices please contact us at the funeral home.

Aftercare

We strive to maintain a relationship with the families we serve long after the service for their loved one. If you are having trouble dealing with your grief please call us today and we will help you find the resources you need.

All of the families we serve are mailed a follow-up survey. This survey allows the family to request additional information on grief and bereavement or other death related issues requiring assistance. We are personally always looking for ways to improve our service. This survey provides valuable feedback to us and helps us ensure we are providing quality service.
