Cyril was born in Morrison County on July 7, 1929; to his parents Joseph and Barbara (Cekalla) Kaiser. He was raised in the Rice and Royalton area and leaves behind many friends and relatives there.

Cyril married Rita Girgen in October of 1951 in Vermillion Minnesota after meeting at a polka dance a couple years earlier. He had a few jobs until he was drafted in 1953 and served in the Korean conflict until his release in 1955. He received a National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He began farming upon his release from the Military and started his family.

Cyril settled in the Almelund-Lindstrom area in 1964 when he and Rita purchased the farm on Oasis Road. He continued dairy farming until the 1990’s and then raised soybeans and corn on the land until his passing.

Cyril enjoyed going to polka and old time dances whenever he could, or just listening to polka music on the radio, tapes or CD’s. Even as he was doing chemo treatments for his cancer he tried to make it to Senior Centers or Concerts in the Parks to listen to his favorite Polka bands and music.
