John H. Graslee, Sr. of Forest Lake, MN

Proud WWII US Navy Veteran. Passed away peacefully on March 19, 2007. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gudrun (Finanger) Graslee and his only sister, Doris Grewing. John leaves behind his former wife, Laverne Graslee; children, Jacquelyn (Richard) Wittwer of North Branch, Vicki (Leroy Petry) Graslee of Forest Lake, Kristi Graslee and John H.Graslee, Jr. of Shafer, MN and 6 grandchildren, Brent Wittwer, Erin Wittwer. Dan Tyler, Brittney Tyler, Donovan Graslee and Samantha Graslee. John and his family made Forest Lake their home in 1965 where he was self-employed at Wyard Industries. John retired in 1984. John was an Honorary Life Member VFW 4210, Honorary Life Member American Legion Post 225, Voyageur of 40-8 and member of the Cooties where he held numerous elected positions. John was also honored as a Life Boy Scout. Being an avid golfer and bowler were some of his favorite pastimes. Since 1999, acquiring state quarters has been his passion and he hoped to complete his collections – which his family has promised to do on his behalf. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2007 from 5-7 PM at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr SW, Forest Lake (651-464-4422) with a Veteran Memorial Service beginning at 7 PM. A family interment will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
