I worked with Pat Steichen at Linwood for eleven years, and considered her a special friend. We've lost contact, except for the annual Christmas letter. I've been feeling sad about her death, since I learned of it this past Friday. Pat was a special lady.
My family knew Pat from LILA. Her friendly face, gentle spirit, and sense of humor made a lasting impression on all of us. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing and am praying that God is giving her a biq squeeze for a job well done.
Ms. Steichen was a defining influence on so many of us that grew up in Linwood. I was so excited that I got to be in her 6th grade class. Everyday was full of learning and fun. She did so many kind things for her students, like sending graduation cards to us with pictures from our 6th grade year included in them. She was an incredible mentor both in school and life. I was fortunate later in life to get to be a teaching and union colleague with her. Her impact on me was deep and she will be missed greatly. God bless you Ms. Steichen, rest in peace, and thank you so very much.
Pat was always the first face that we saw when we came to LILA in the morning, and the last one to go home. She was LILA's school nurse, receptionist, mediator, message center, and coordinator of everything. She was completely dedicated to kids and education, and it showed. LILA got a wonderful person to help run the school when it first started.. She knew all of the kids and the parents, and who was supposed to be where, and when. Pat was instrumental in the success of LILA. We will miss her and her smiling face. She was awesome!
Pat was one of my best friends ☺
We spent quite a bit of time together in the last 2 years. I met Pat about 8 years ago. I'm going to miss her sense of humor and amazing friendship 🙄
You are definitely an Angel in Heaven my friend.....I know you are watching over me.
Ms. Steichen was my 6th grade teacher. My FAVORITE teacher ever. She made learning fun, we had many laughs in class, and she always made me smile. I am better for having known her and learned from her. God bless her soul.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Beth and your family.

I am so sorry to read about her passing. I knew Pat through her time at LILA and appreciated everything she did to help create an incredible experience for everyone that came through the LILA doors. She was bright, organized, and funny. My kids and I adored her. Rest in peace, Pat. You'll be missed by many.
You were a great teacher and person in a time when many didn't want to help or didn't understand how to help me you took upon yourself to give me a chance. I wish life wasn't so busy and I would have made time to tell you thank you for believing in me. Rest in Peace.
Although we lost touch, Pat was a true friend when we were at UMD. Rest in peace.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!
Pat warmly touched everyone she met. She had a wonderful way about her that endeared her to fellow staff members, students, and parents. She was a great teacher and a very special friend to me. I will miss her very much and will always carry special memories of the good times we had together.
Pat will be remembered by many as a caring and generous friend. She was a wonderful mentor to my husband and me throughout our years of teaching at Linwood Elementary. We shared many fun times together both at school and at Linwood gatherings. She was "famous" for sharing her wonderful baked treats...carmelitas, cream cheese cupcakes, and fudge, to name just a few. Pat always showed an interest in our family and wanted to know how our children were doing. We feel truly blessed that we could call Pat our friend. She touched many lives with her kindness! We will miss her!

I was so sad to hear of her passing. She was my favorite teacher at Linwood. Her dedication to her students was genuine. Always there to give you help or a nudge when needed. Great sense of humor too. You will be greatly missed Ms. Steichen. Linwood just isn't the same without you 😪
I am so sad to hear this. Miss Steichen was my 5th and 6th grade teacher and later on was my daughter's teacher. I have very fond memories of her and recall square dancing on Friday afternoons in the classroom. She made me feel special and I am sure I am not alone. I am sure she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, where she heard, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
Oh my goodness! I am so sorry for your loss. Pat was one of my teachers at Linwood Elementary many years ago and I have such fond memories of her in the sixth grade. Stickers and stickers and stickers and so much kindness and encouragement. She has touched the lives of so many and I'm sure I'm not alone in remembering her with great fondness! May your memories bring you comfort in the shadow of her passing. Peace, Miss Steichen! You will be remembered. I'll light a candle in her honor today.
She was special to our family in a number of ways. She taught with my mom for many years at Linwood and was the face that greeted our kids for many more years at LILA. Such a sweet lady. She will be missed. ❤️ Bob & Kristi Headley (Gabby, Micah, Olivia & Lauren)
Pat was a lovely, kind, and caring person. We will always remember how much she enjoyed game nights at the Moses' especially charades (NOT!). She gave a lifetime of love as a teacher to the children of Forest Lake. She will not be forgotten! Jeff and Bonnie Johnson
Your going to be missed so much! My favorite teacher of all times 😀😀 R.I.P

Pat was a wonderful friend to me and my family during our time at Lila and my time on the Lila PTO, I remember a time when we were going on a trip and she put together a fun traveling bag full of toys for Zach to play with on the way. Rest in peace friend.
"Ma", as I called Pat as she was like a second mother to me, was the most kind person with a great sense of humor. She took me under her wing my first year of teaching and we immediately became friends. She was an incredible mentor. We shared many laughs and fun times together. She was so thoughtful, considerate and generous. I will miss her greatly. Rest in peace, Ma.
This is a beautiful picture of her.
