Born in Pleasant Prairie Township, Martin County, MN on September 26, 1930 to Hallie and Maude Bullard, Bob was the youngest of six children. Bob graduated from Granada MN High School in 1948 and enrolled in technical school to learn telegraphy. His skill earned him a job with a railroad, The Milwaukee Road, in Columbus, WI. He married Doris Survis in Fairmont, MN on May 2, 1951. The Korean War was on and he was drafted into the Army and stationed in Alaska. His first son, Ron, was born during his time away. Bob returned to Columbus and worked for The Milwaukee Road a total of 19 years until the passenger railroad business declined. In 1968 he joined his brother Don to start StarMold, a plastic injection molding company in Hugo, MN. This business and its successors provided his career for the next 28 years until retirement in 1996 from Plastech Corporation as vice president.
Bob cared for Doris until she passed away in 2003. He met Adeline Carey at their church. They married and shared six years together until her passing in 2011. The Forest Hills United Methodist Church provided not only an introduction to Adeline, but many, many friends like the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out), good fellowship and many volunteer opportunities. Bob served the church as a senior leader and the church provided him with his retirement life purpose and a strong faith in God.

On behalf of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225, awe give thanks for Bob's military service to our nation in the Army. It will be a privilege to provide his military honors Friday.
The world has lost a great man. Bob was such a wonderful person. He will truly be missed at Forest Hills UMC. He shared his wisdom so graciously over and over whenever and wherever needed. It was an honor to have known him and a privilege to have worked on ministry teams AND attended church with him. May you find peace in knowing how much he was loved by so many. There is a party in Heaven in his honor.
I was very sorry to hear about the loss of my friend and have been thinking about Bob tremendously. I worked with (for) Bob for many years at Plastech. We used to travel around the country together visiting customers and I still cherish those many hours talking in the rental car between destinations. We talked about our faith, families, business, hobbies sports....everything and anything. We never once listened to the radio. I learned so much from Bob both personally and professionally.. Bob was a fantastic mentor and friend and will be greatly missed.
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your dear loved one. Please accept my condolences at this painful time. Losing a loved one is distressing and as comfort is needed from family and friends, it is my hope your family will find comforting the promise at Isaiah 25:8 where we are assured that “ death will be swallowed up forever.” I pray you find the strength to endure during the days ahead.
