October 9, 1930 ~ September 27, 2024

Age 93, formerly of New Hope & Golden Valley. Loving Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma & Sister, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 27, 2024. Preceded in death by husband, Raymond; grandson, Bryce Haring; son-in-law, Bill Haring; siblings, Grace Kohler, Harry Davis. Survived by children, Jim (Barb), Nancy Haring, Dan (Linda); grandchildren, Andrew (Molly), Britta (Nate), Michaela, Bobby; great-grandchildren, Anders, Solveig, Julia; brother, George (Ciel) Davis; sister-in-law, Joan Davis; loving companion, Walter Olson; dear special cousin, Rozann Ryerson; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Ida grew up and attended school in St. Peter, MN. She worked at the movie theater selling tickets and one day a handsome Gustavus student, Raymond Lundborg, asked her if she would go out for a cup of coffee with him and she said yes every time he asked. They were married in 1951 and raised their family in St. Louis Park and New Hope, MN. She was a dedicated employee of Cargill for many years. After Ray passed away in 2002 Ida moved to Calvary Co-op in Golden Valley. At church she met Walter Olson who became her loving companion. They both enjoyed gardening and sharing their bounty of vegetables with others. Ida’s family were her greatest joy and she cherished spending time with them, especially at Christmas. She delighted in being Santa’s helper to fill the stockings with little treasures, healthy fruit and the prized golden nut. In the fall there were new flannel pajamas for all and December brought secret deliveries of St. Nicholas day treats. She loved and looked forward to getting new pictures and handmade cards from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She surrounded herself with them like a warm blanket. Traveling the country, camping, cabin time and trips to the North Shore with family created many special memories to treasure forever. Ida loved books, flowers, crafts, and music. Her favorite color was yellow like the sunshine. Perhaps that’s why she was known as someone who would try to lift people’s spirits and bring some sunshine into their day. A celebration of Ida’s life 1 PM Friday, October 11th with visitation beginning at 12 PM at West Union Lutheran Church, Cologne. Interment at West Union Cemetery.

  1. Ida – I will always remember your smile and warmth as well as your endearing laugh and the way you always made everyone feel welcome and heard – RIP

  2. Ida worked for the Steel and Wire business of Cargill for many years. She was always delightful and caring. I don’t think her administrative skills could be matched by anyone. It is sad to hear of her passing.
