They are not dead who live in the hearts they leave behind. James Dunning Holmes, Sr., of Hugo and formerly of Forest Lake and St. Paul passed away January 15, 2013. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 15, 1929. Jim is proud to be a retired Air Force Captain and a retired US Postal Worker. Jim is survived by his wife, Louise Gall Holmes; his children, Louise Routhe, Linda Huggett, and James Holmes Jr., and their significant others, Rich Routhe, Grant Blaskowski, and Sarah Michaels; his grandchildren, Corey Huggett (Amanday Walz), Tawnee (Cody) Studeman, Austin Holmes, Trent Holmes, Christopher Routhe, and Tyler Routhe; and his great grandchildren, Edmund Huggett and Vanessa Studeman. A visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 on Friday, Jan. 18th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Dr. SW, Forest Lake with a funeral service beginning at 10:30 AM. Private Family Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis with members of the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225 acting as casketbearers. Memorials preferred to MN Air Guard Museum.
