Kenneth Bower

September 11, 1942 ~ April 5, 2014
*** THE TIME OF THE SERVICE HAS CHANGED TO 11 AM on Saturday, JUNE 21st. *** Kenneth C. Bower, born September 11, 1942 in Montevideo, MN was the second youngest of five - David, Janet, Ron, Ken and Russell. Ken was very close to his mother, Ethel. He loved sports - as a kid he played baseball in the street with other neighbor kids. Ken attended St. Marks until 8th grade and then went on to Wilson High School in St. Paul where he excelled in sports. He made All City in baseball and was also a fine basketball player too. Ken met his future wife, Dixie at the Prom Ballroom on the Midway in St. Paul, Minnesota. They were married October 27, 1961 and had five children - Deborah, Kenneth, Christopher, Diane, and Dina. Ken, Dixie and their family had a wonderful life together. In 1988, Ken and Dixie moved to Las Vegas where they both had very successful businesses. When they retired, they moved to Colorado where Dina had built a guest house for them. Ken loved it - such a beautiful view - deer and elk come right into the yard. Ken and Dixie have had so many memorable moments together. Such great friends and family - and most important, the amazing amount of love Ken and Dixie had for each other! Ken died on April 5, 2014 following four years of heart challenges and COPD. He was welcomed into heaven by his daughter, Diane; parents, Lawrence and Ethel (Turner) Bower; sister, Janet Schmid; brothers, David Bower and Russell Bower. A memorial mass will be held here in Minnesota on June 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 Centennial Drive SW, Forest Lake. There will be a time of fellowship to greet Dixie and all of the Bower family beginning at 10 AM .
I love you and miss you so much. I have wonderful memories of you from before and after you marriage to Dixie. My heartfelt sorrow goes out to all in the Bower family.
My sincere condolences to you and your family. (Revelation 21:4) make the promise, where death will be going forever. What a beautiful promise that we all look forward, from our loving Creator, Jehovah God, (Psalm 83:18). May the God of peace be with you and your family.
Sincerely Yours,
Brandy Molina
Our fondest memories with Uncle Ken were the visits on our patio. When Uncle Ken and Aunt Dixie would visit us, on that day everything seemed to stop. We lived in the moment and enjoyed wonderful afternoons that turned into evenings on our patio. We would catch up on the year’s events and solve all the world problems as we laughed and loved the hours away. Always too short and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Love you Aunt Dixie and Cousins. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
