September 29, 1938 ~ July 8, 2021

Age 82 of Hugo. Loving Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2021. Mary (Carmel) was born in Redwing Colorado on September 29, 1938 and lived in the mountain town of Gardner Colorado until age 19, when she and her best friend Carol Jean moved to Colorado Springs for work. While out dancing she met Gary Gregory; an Air Force airman stationed there. The two dated until Gary returned to Minnesota, where Mary eventually joined him. They married at St. Mark’s Catholic Church November 28th, 1959. Mary and Gary moved to White Bear Lake in 1963 where they raised their 4 children. They purchased a cabin on Stony Lake in 1968 where the family spent most weekends during the summer and fall. Mary was a dedicated homemaker staying home while the kids were in school. She kept an immaculately clean house, enjoyed things like hanging the laundry outside, mowing the lawn and even shoveling snow. Mary ironed everything and an ironing board stood in the living room where she could watch her soaps. It was a happy day when they finally brought a TV to the cabin! There of course was always time in the day to coffee clutch with the neighbor ladies. In 1983 she attended Lakewood Community College where she became Certified as a Nurse’s Aide. Mary enjoyed working at White Bear Care Center for many years. In 1993, upon their Retirement they moved to Hugo, she loved redecorating their new house. Mary looked forward to an annual trip in May when one, two or three of her kids spent a week with her in Colorado visiting her brothers, sisters, and extended family. Mazatlán Mexico was also a favorite vacation for both Mary and Gary, going many times to the Inn at Mazatlán with their children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her brothers, Abe and Arthur Bravo. Survived by loving husband of 61 years, Gary; children, Barb (Steve) Williamson, Courtland (Heather) Gregory, Debbie (Dave) DeSchane, Carolyn (Scott) McPherson; 19 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren; siblings Vangie Trujillo, Beatrice Bernal, Bernice Sharits; many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Visitation 4-7 PM Thursday, July 15th at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, July 16th with visitation one hour prior at Church of Saint Peter, 1250 S. Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Private interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Saint Paul. The Mass will be livestreamed here: https://youtu.be/l9tR386Yzmc
